The purpose of our existence is to please God. Revelations 4:11. We must have a compelling purpose driving our existence. Without it, there would be a void in our lives and other unsavory things may fill it because nature abhors a vacuum.
HOW TO OVERCOME HABITS
Purpose is the most important weapon in overcoming habits. Hebrews 12:1 instructs us to not just lay aside weights but to run. We must have a pursuit and this pursuit must be God. If we lay aside every weight but don’t run, the weights will come back. We replace habits with habits.
An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. God didn’t create man to be idle. Being idle is breaking God’s principle. Having a new, pure, and holy obsession is what kills habits, not necessarily trying to kill the habit itself.
We have victory over habits by the power of God!
