Immanuel: Jesus the Man ✨
📌 God took up flesh and dwelt amongst us. His name is Jesus. John 1:1,14 – In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Jesus is the mediator between God and man and is both God and man. To understand Jesus as God, we must note 1 Timothy 2:5 which corroborates 1 Timothy 3:16.
📌 The humanity of Christ is one of the greatest expressions of God’s love towards us. Deities of many religions have so-called rules and guidelines against sin but none actually experienced the struggles that humans face.
God however became a man and felt all our pain and struggles.
- He was tempted by the devil
- He was betrayed by his friends
- He was denied and lied against.
- He experienced hunger
- He was beaten, crucified,
and experienced excruciating pain. Yet amidst all these, he sought for only one thing: our forgiveness and redemption! Hallelujah! Christ is our perfect example of endurance and empathy.
Philippians 2:5-7, Hebrews 12:1-2, 1 Peter 2:21-24, 4:12
We should strive daily to be as he was while as a man on earth.
