Title: Recipe for Greatness – Humility

Like salt is to soup, there is something minute but very precise and most important in every Christian lifestyle; it is humility.

The redemptive work of Jesus is not just something to believe (salvation) but it is also an example to emulate (humility). We grow in grace through prayer. We grow in grace through study. We grow in grace through humility.

1Pet5:5 Many people see humility as something they do to be nice, but people hardly see humility as something they do to rise. 1Pet 5:5-6 Heaven and earth has been promised to the humble

Matt5:3,5 God recognizes greatness in His kingdom as Humility. Matt9:46-48

Marks of humility.

Phil 2:6-7

1. Honor elders.

2. Honor your parents.

3. Honor spiritual authority.

4. Honor the Word. It takes humility to have a prayer life. To know you cannot do it on your own. Finally, humility is of the heart. It is not just in kneeling down, because posture can be mimicked.
